Weekly Report 21 May 2017

I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day last Sunday – the weather was certainly good for your runs & walks.

This Sunday (21st) is the next corrective exercise session with Fem.  She will be there from 10.30am for about an hour, so join in after your runs/walks.  The forecast is for some rain the next few days, but I think Sunday is meant to be ok, but just in case, have something warm & comfortable to put on so you don’t get cold during the session.  If you remember, bring a pillow & a towel to use for props (to support your ankles etc if you need them).  The next group session at Fem’s studio, 30 Courtenay Place is Friday 26th May at 7.30am if you want to follow this Sundays session up and reinforce what you learn.

Footsteps of the Marines & combined Bus trip:  all happening on 28th May.  See the info Wim has put together by clicking here.  If you are taking part in this, or are wanting to join the bus so you can go for a run/walk somewhere along the way, please add your name to the list below.

Movie night:  Times Cinema – see registration form below.  This is scheduled for Saturday 1 July (movie yet to be decided on) – the details are also listed below.

Wellington Marathon June:  The Heart Foundation are the official charity partner for the Wellington Marathon 2017 and are looking to recruit a record number of Heart Racers this year to raise vital funds for the Heart Foundation. This is the info they’ve sent through, and if you are keen to join their fund raising team, then follow the link below:

Are you running in one of the distances at the Wellington Marathon this year? If you are then sign up as a Heart Racer and help raise vital funds for the Heart Foundation.  Every Heart Racer receives a Heart Racer dry-fit running tshirt, regular newsletter with training/nutrition / fundraising advice, an online fundraising page, plus a FitBit Surge for those who raise over $750!  Join Team Heart Racer now to help save lives everydayhero.co.nz/event/wellington-marathon-2017

Also, if you are interested in helping out rather than running/walking, have a talk to Mike one Sunday (or email him your interest through Contact WMC).

Weekly Report format:  As far as I know, this is the last “Weekly” report – the next one will be in a months time, around the 22nd June.  Stan will have any info from the committee meeting on the 19th June for this report, and will let you know what will be coming up through to July.  By then, Aurora, CHCH and Wellington marathons will have been run, so if you are taking part in them (either running or walking) good luck, and let us know your results.  There’s bound to be a few reminders put through in between times – but these will be for things like confirming next weeks (28th) bus trip or if something else crops up that the committee feels you need to be made aware of (or if whoever is doing the report for the month forgets to put something in – that’s bound to be when it’s my turn again!!!!)

Have a good week, and we’ll see you Sunday for Fem’s session if not before.
