It’s not too late to enter the Andy McNeill Memorial Run. Unfortunately, I can’t be there 🙁 But thanks to all the volunteers helping out on the day. It seems like a course that Andy would have enjoyed running. He was always so strong on the hills.

Now, for an update from the committee….

WMC members are encouraged to attend the 2018 AGM at 10.15am on 16 December, ASB Stadium. Papers for the AGM will be emailed and mailed to members but please note this advance notification of the date.

Committee meetings’ notes
At the September meeting we focused on:

  • Survey results
  • Andy McNeill memorial event
  • Calendar for 2018 and early 2019, leading into the 40th anniversary year for WMC
  • AGM and accounts preparation

The October meeting did not have a quorum (illness struck!) but those present did further detailed work on the 28 October Andy McNeill memorial event. Other business can be done by email or held over to the 19 November meeting.

And if you have a trophy at home please bring it along to the ASB – obviously not this Sunday.
Many thanks, Lynda (and Wim)

Nike 2 Hour Assisted Marathon
From my previous article in September on Kipchoge’s new marathon record, I’ve managed to track down a few videos on the Nike funded 2 hour assisted marathon attempt on the Monza track in 2017. Kipchoge is in the red top.
Here is the Wired: Science documentary (9:56 min)

This is the full National Geographic documentary (55min)

Check out the running technique analysis and the great form shown by Kipchoge throughout the run.

Enjoy the Andy McNeill Memorial Run and catch you next week at the ASB Centre,
