White lies to get you out into a southerly

“My knee/back/neck/ankles weren’t quite as sore as usual.  Actually, I’m good!”  
“That was a pretty good time yesterday – fastest in months.”
Feel free to use any of those lines if it gets you going. 
This is the crucial training period for events in August and September.  
WMC is ramping up as well, with Dinners, Bus Trips and Movies all being lined up. I look forward to seeing you there.
Those are definitely daffodils by the fence.

Fem’s Sessions

Fem’s Runners and Walkers Corrective session will recommence on Sunday 16 August at the ASB Centre, Matairangi Room, 10:30am – 1130am.
Thereafter monthly on 20 September, 18 October and 22 November.

WMC Annual Club Dinner

Date: Saturday 22 August 2020
Time: from 5:30pm for pre-dinner drinks, seated at 6:30pm
Venue: Coene’s Bar and Eatery, 103 Oriental Parade, Oriental Bay, Wellington
Each members’ meal will be subsidised by $20 along with a complimentary drink. Partners welcome, not subsidised.

Benefits of Running Include Lower Rates of Cancer and Early Mortality

According to new research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, running as little as 50 minutes per week can help reduce your risk of early death from cancer and cardiovascular-related events.

Regardless of weekly frequency, duration, and pace, running is a great form of exercise to help you live longer.

Running has often been associated with improved heart and metabolic function, but some previous studies have shown inconsistent findings in terms of whether or not logging miles regularly can help ward off cancer or death related to cardiovascular events.

That led researchers to do a meta-analysis of 14 studies, with a participant pool of 232,149 people, to see whether running actually did make a difference for cancer prevention and heart health click on the link below
